Everton Under-18s were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke City on Saturday.
Daniel Bramall got the young Blues off to the perfect start at the Potters’ Clayton Wood training facility, charging down the goalkeeper’s attempted clearance before converting Manasse Mampala’s cut-back to open the scoring inside 10 minutes.
Kevin Sheedy’s side continued to control proceedings throughout the opening period, but were pegged back 10 minutes after the interval when a defensive error allowed Stoke to draw level.
Mampala and substitute Sims spurned half chances in the closing stages, meaning the Toffees were forced to settle for a point.
