Dylan Cantrell didn’t make his first start last fall until Texas Tech’s fourth game. The junior wide receiver may not have to wait so long to break into the starting lineup this season.
He figures to start Tech’s season opener Sept. 5 at home against Sam Houston State after fellow junior Reginald Davis said he may be suspended for the first half of that game. Davis was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of possession of marijuana.
“I’ll be ready to fill that role and come out and try to make plays,” Cantrell said. “Any time the ball is thrown my way, make a play on it and block hard in the run game.
